My name is Julie Hausen and I am dreaming a little bigger. My dream is filled with laughter, curiosity, creativity, and custom-fit music education. My dream is to help you take music education from drab to fab.
Do you remember sitting down to practice an instrument, setting the dreaded timer for 30 minutes, or heaven forbid… an hour, and plunking away at the notes, waiting for the timer to ring, finally releasing you from its grasp and letting you escape to freedom? Or, perhaps your music lessons made you feel like your instrument was the most boring thing on the planet?
After years of building my own music studio, I want to show you how we can take music education to the next level; a level where music becomes an art form to be explored and expressed- not just a piece to perform and pass off. We will explore how to:
So, if you’re ready, I will help you turn music education into an experience that will rock your world.
I graduated in 2011 with a stellar bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and minor in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL K-12). Between writing the millions of lesson plans, studying countless hours of child development and learning philosophies, taking music classes, and squeezing in the time to practice my instruments in the basement practice rooms on campus, I realized that all of this fantastic research could transform everyday music lessons into an exciting and remarkable journey.
And that, my friends, is how Julie Hausen Music was born.
Let’s get started!

- Make daily practice a creative exploration of music that fosters curiosity.
- Create lessons that are a high-point each week filled with laughter and learning.
- Provide a well-rounded music education.
- Design custom-fit music education to meet the specific needs and goals of my students.
